Natural Herb for Memory
Memory has been an issue since ages. Loss of memory is not only
related to old age. Serious illness, stress, mental disturbances,
lack of sleep and chronic fatigue syndromes all contribute to memory
loss.
Herbs like Cinnamon bark extract, L-carnitine, choline, ginkgo biloba
extract, tienchi, hawthorne berry extract, bilberry extract, L-phenylalanine,
DMAE, coral calcium with trace minerals, L-arginine, blue cohosh,
cayenne 40,000 Scoville heat unit are extremely good in memory enhancement.
Several other herbs are being used all over the world since ages
and these are stated below.
GINKGO BILOBA: Ginkgo Biloba increases blood
circulation increasing the cerebral function and grey matter enhancement.
It is extremely useful in memory loss caused by Alzheimer’s
and certain other forms of dementias.
It improves the brain functioning by increase in focusing and thinking.
Moreover it relaxes the mind, so acute dementias are prevented.
GOTU COLA: It is an important ayurvedic herb.
It is very effective in increasing the concentration levels, memory
and systemic circulation.
Gotu Cola re-vitalizes brain and nervous system, improve memory
and delays ageing. It improves cerebral blood flow (CBF) and circulation
in general, thereby allowing oxygen rich blood to penetrate deep
into the brain.
It also helps when trying to stop smoking, as it controls memory
and concentration problems and an inability to focus on their tasks.
ROSEMARY: Rosemary or Romarinus officinalis
is known as an herb for remembrance. Greeks and the Romans used
to prepare fragrant distilled water from the flowers of Rosemary
and inhaled the odor so that the memory is enhanced.
Rosemary is like a gift for mental fatigue and forgetfulness. A
tea made from this herb, taken once or twice a day, is a refreshing
drink and an effective natural remedy for enhancing mental agility.
BACOPA SCROPHULARIACEAE: Almost 7 gm of this
herb should be dried in the shade and ground in water, along with
almonds and pepper.
This mixture should be strained and sweetened with twenty-five
gm of sugar. An empty stomach uptake is very beneficial.
SAGE: Another great herb for weak memory or loss
of memory. It acts on the cortex of the brain, mitigates mental
exhaustion and strengthens the ability to concentrate.
A tea prepared from dried sage leaves can be used regularly for
this purpose.
ALMONDS: For centuries almonds have been used
for memory enhancement. An old traditional remedy in Asia and Middle
Easter countries is to soak 7 almonds at night in water, next morning
peel them and eat empty stomach.
Inhaling ten to fifteen drops of almond oil through the nose, morning
and evening, is also beneficial in the treatment of brain weakness.
CUMIN SEEDS: Cumin seeds in roasted form are
used for amnesia or dullness of memory. Three grams of black cumin
seeds should be mixed with two teaspoonfuls of pure honey and taken
once a day, preferably, in the morning.
BLACK PEPPER: Five seeds of finely ground black
pepper, mixed with one teaspoon of honey are also beneficial in
the treatment of this condition. This preparation should be taken
both in the morning and evening.
