Natural Herb to Prevent Smoking
On one side of the cigarette is fire and on the other end is a
fool!!!” Somebody said very right about the smokers.
Smoking is not an addiction or fun to do thing, it is another form
of suicide…as a matter of fact it is a delayed suicide.
To leave smoking is the best option but if somebody doesn’t
want to leave this hazardous habit he/she must at least use milk
thistle extract, dandelion root, hawthorne berry, mullein leaf,
anise, ginger root, elecampane, vitamin C, cat's claw concentrate,
astragalus root and ginkgo biloba herbal remedies to support organs
amd systems that are suffering from the poison being breathed.
But for those who have realized how unfair they have been to their
selves there are certain herbal remedies that are helpful in reducing
the habit of smoking and eventually complete prevention from the
urge.
Below are the herbs and how they work to make you help leaving
smoking.
AVENA SATIVA: It is an extremely efficient nerve
tonic which prevents insomnia, depression and anxiety. It has also
been used to treat opium addiction.
Recent studies have suggested that it is just as effective in reducing
the craving for nicotine, possibly by balancing levels of acetylcholine
implicated in addiction.
LOBELIA: The active ingredient in lobelia is
lobeline, which is very helpful in fighting the withdrawal effects
of smoking. Lobeline is reported increase levels of the neurotransmitter
dopamine in the brain similar to cigarettes.
Lobelia is a potentially toxic herb, and should not be used unless
under the supervision of a qualified health practitioner. It can
cause dry mouth, profuse sweating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors,
rapid heartbeat, confusion, convulsions, coma, and in larger doses,
even death.
GARCINIA CAMBOGIA: It is mainly an Ayurvedic
herb. It has hydro-citric acid which prevents sugar cravings and
compensatory eating associated with nicotine withdrawal.
GINSENG: Ginseng prevents the nicotine-induced
release of the neurotransmitter dopamine.
GOTU COLA: It is another Ayurvedic drug. Gotu
Cola helps revitalizing brain and nervous system. It helps in withdrawal
symptoms by increasing mental clarity, enhance memory and brain
function and alleviate anxiety.
Recent studies show an improvement in cerebral blood flow and circulation
in general, thereby allowing oxygen rich blood to penetrate deep
into the brain.
ST. JOHNS WORT: No direct data is available for
its use in smoking prevention, though few recent studies have found
that it can be extremely helpful in withdrawal symptoms.
Why and how are still not confirmed. This is stated to be taken
alone as it reacts with antidepressants, drugs to treat HIV infections
and AIDs, drugs to prevent organ rejection for transplant patients,
and oral contraceptives.
St. John's wort is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women,
children, or people with bipolar disorder, liver or kidney disease.
Apart from herbal remedies
there are several other methods that are helpful in stop smoking.
Acupuncture, hypnotherapy and behavioral therapies are other major
remedies and health programs which are reported to be very beneficial
to the majority of people and you can also be the one in that list!!!!
