Natural Herbs to Lower Your Blood Pressure

Blood pressure or Hypertension is a very serious and concerned health condition.

Hypertension or blood pressure is a condition in which the heart pumps blood with more thrust to push blood in the vessels; this thrust is to overcome the resistance provided by the vessels.

High blood pressure can be resultant of any heart condition, high cholesterol or even tension, anxiety and stress.

There are several natural herbs for blood pressure, but they have their own different effects, so it is better to know the reason of high blood pressure first then to take any high blood pressure natural herb remedy.

A few herbs are given below along with their functions so that it can be helpful for you to decide amongst them.

• GARLIC: Garlic is the most important natural herb. In Asia and Middle Eastern countries it is a regular ingredient of their meals. Eaten either cooked, raw, in form of garlic oil or even pickles; it has been used for centuries and centuries.

Ayurvedic herbal treatments are particularly fond of garlic usage. It is extremely significant in reduction of systolic blood pressure.

Garlic has antiseptic qualities as well as blood thinning/ diluting properties. It dilutes the blood just like Ginkgo Biloba or Aspirin. So never take them along each other as it can cause bleeding and hemorrhages.

• HAWTHORN:
It is another natural herb used widely for the treatment of high blood pressure. There are several studies going on to prove the beneficial actions.

The test was taken by giving medication for high blood pressure to 71% of the patients. At the end of the 16 weeks, patients taking the hawthorn supplement had a significant reduction in mean diastolic blood pressure (2.6 mm Hg).

No herb-drug interactions were reported.

• FISH OIL: Though fish oil does not have very tremendous effect on all of the patients; but for some it is great. Mostly the patients with mild hypertension are advised to take fish oil.

Although fish oil supplements often contain both DHA (docohexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), there is some evidence that DHA is the ingredient that lowers high blood pressure.

• FOLIC ACID: Folic acid reduces homocysteine levels and is also helpful in some anemic patients. For the production of red blood cells folate is required which needs folic acid as a part of it.

No strong studies support the use of folic acid. But it will be proved in very less time like all other treatment options from herbal remedies.

• GINKGO BILOBA: Ginkgo Biloba is a very old living tree species. Its leaves in dry form are used in several herbal remedies and can be used in herbal teas, pills, capsules and in other formulations.

It is the sole herb for hundreds of disease including anti-rheumatic, anxiety, asthma, atherosclerosis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autoimmune disorders, blood vessel disorders, blood clots, breast disease, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, cancer, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, cataracts, chronic rhinitis, congestive heart failure, coronary heart disease.

Additionally it also acts against cough, dermatitis, diabetes, neuropathy, retinopathy, indigestion, dysentery, eczema, fatigue, freckle-removing, genitourinary disorders, hearing loss, heart disease, heart attack, headache, hepatitis B, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, hypoxia, insomnia, labor induction, menstrual pain, migraine, mood disturbances, oral cavity cancer, respiratory tract illnesses, scabies, schizophrenia, seizures, sepsis, skin sores, swelling, traumatic brain injury, ulcerative colitis, varicose veins.
