Dieretic Natural Herb
Dieretic means ulcerated. The various forms of ulcerations are
there; skin ulcerations and gastrointestinal ulcerations being the
most common of all.
Like all other diseases even ulcerations are very well treated with
the herbal remedies. Comfrey being the best herb to treat all types
of ulcerations.
Rests of the herbs are only effective in certain ailments or with
certain herbal formulas. A few examples are narrated here for your
convenience.
Ulcerative colitis: Beat the diarreah, inflammation,
bloody stools and pain with cat's claw concentrate, wild yam, quercetin,
garlic extract, glucosamine sulfate, psyllium husk, slippery elm
and red clover.
Peptic ulcer: Peptic ulcer is a commonly found
condition amongst people with unhealthy habits including ingestion
of heavy meals, addiction to alcohol and smoking.
Food poisoning, infections like influenza, septicaemia and toxins
like uremia and gout are the other causes of gastritis and ulcers.
The mucous membrane of the stomach gets congested and too much
of acid gives rise to wounds or ulcers. The size of the ulcer is
from ¼ to 1 inch in diameter.
The symptoms include dizziness, nausea, eructation and loss of appetite.
Acidity goes on increasing leading to a burning sensation or even
pain in the stomach, which is relieved after ingestion of mild meal,
spices can make the situation even worse.
Flatulence, mental tension, insomnia, bad temper and gradual weakening
of the body starts with the progression of the disease. Constipation
also appears and sometimes the stools are tinged with blood.
Serious complications like haemorrhage, perforation and obstruction
of the sphincters may also appear. Unless it is detected in time
massive bleeding may lead to death.
Ulcer patients should avoid spices and seasoned or fried foods.
Alcohol and other acidic substances are prohibited. Milk, cream,
butter, fruits and boiled vegetables are the best diet for an ulcer
patient.
The fruit recommended are banana, mangoes, muskmelon and dates.
The herbs recommended for peptic ulcer are Cat's claw, cracked chlorella
algae, licorice, marshmallow root, slippery elm and alfalfa. Those
with advanced ulcers should only take herbs, milk or fruits.
The various types of gourds should be boiled without their rind
because the rind is likely to create friction in the stomach. Flea-seed
husk 10 to 15 gm should be taken with water or milk after every
meal.
The ulcer patient must take one to one and a half liters of water
during the day. Constipation should be relieved at every cost as
it will worsen the situation. Try using herbs like Mexican wild
yam, apple pectin, Oregon grape root, una de gato extract for constipation.
Ulcer patients should astray from fasting or long intervals between
meals and stress of course. Stress increases certain hormonal releases
in our body which worsen the ulcers and can end up as unbearable
painful conditions.
If proper care is not taken perforation are caused which is a straight
sign of progression to death. So for peptic ulcers not only care
in food and medicines is required but also it needs changes in the
lifestyle and living habits.
