How To Prevent Acne By Using Herbal Remedies

In these days ever changing world environment, the age of people really does not matter. Adults are also more prone to develop acne. Acne is just a skin related condition only, not a fearful disease.

Treatment of acne can be done with the help of several kinds of remedies available. But home treatment is better compared to medicines available in the market. The home treatment for acne includes natural cures, vegetables, minerals, fruits, ayurvedic and herbal treatments. One can use fresh or frozen vegetables. The herbs that are available are the Achiote Leaf, the  Almond Oil, Anethole, the Aloe Vera, the  Arnica Flower and last but not least the Bayberry Bark etc.

The several kinds of remedies are:

The Herbal Mix

Herbs are very useful in not only treating acne, but also actually effective in preventing acne. So, herbal products can also be taken along with one's diet regimen, after completion of diet program.

An ideal herbal mix should contain herbal solutions of herbs such as yellow dock, sarsaparilla, cleavers and burdock in equal quantities. All these herbs are strong cleansing agents of lymph and blood. These herbs are potent lymph and blood cleansing agents. Five milliliters of these extracts taken three times a day, coupled with normal daily diet will help in maintaining a health skin and prevents acne. The most common herbal recommendations are tea tree oil - an application for acne lacerations to eliminate the acne causing bacteria - and Nigella, and fennel flower.

Herb # 1: Tree Tea Oil

The leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia are steam distilled to get tree tea oil. It is an Australian herb for tackling acne efficiently. It is available in health stores in several concentrations.

  • Components: It has terpinen-4-ol, which has antimicrobial characteristics.
  • Benefits: It eliminates bacteria. So, it should be applied to skin lacerations to annihilate Propionibacterium acnes. The Propionibacterium resides on the skin and induces acne formation.
  • Adverse consequences: Very few consequences when compared to benzoyl peroxide.
  • Caution: Application of concentrated tree tea oil may irritate the skin and may cause skin blisters, tenderness, itching, and parched skin.
  • Recommended concentration: About  5% concentration gels should be used. It can be prepared at home by adding 95 milliliters of water to 5 milliliters of tree tea oil to get 100 milliliters of usable herbal product for application.

The second herb we are going to discuss is the Nigella or otherwise known, in the popular culture, as the  Fennel Flower

Nigella is a powerful herbal remedy for augmenting the immune system. A weak immune system may exacerbate the acne condition, and Nigella will make the immune system vigorous.

Chemical Compounds

Besides using herbal and natural diets and applying and taking herbs, one can use baking soda to efficiently tackle acne. Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is normally available in the market and is generally used for leavening foods. Acid reaction gives out water and carbon oxide.

Sodium bicarbonate operates in two different ways:

Dead skin cell removing agent: Acne can show up anytime and anywhere and it is caused due to the blockage of the hair follicles. The sebaceous glands will begin making sebum continuously when follicles are blocked. This will result in cracking of hair follicles. If a bump shows up on the skin with the sebum retained inside, then it is called as a white head. When bump emerges out of the skin, then it is called blackhead.

Counteract the effects of acidic environment: The primary reason for acne is the infections caused by fungi and bacteria. Sodium bicarbonate will assist in destroying the bacterial cells that help bacteria to multiply on the skin.
